Simon Ryninks has just completed his third short film Contractor 014352, starring Johnny Flynn (Genius, Lovesick, Song One) and Daniel Ings (Lovesick and The Crown). His previous short films The Elevator Pitch and Red Onions were finalists at Sundance London. He has directed for the BBC and was nominated for the IMdB New Filmmaker Award. Simon creates and direct live performances that place an emphasis on immersion, interactivity and community. He has been commissioned by Southwark Council, Somerset House and the Turner Contemporary. He has directed for the Old Vic Community Company.
Hiran Balasuriya has worked for numerous production companies including Kontent Films and Remedy Editorial in San Francisco, as well as BBC Films and Ponda Films in London. As an editor, he has worked on short films, music videos and documentaries, for Channel 4, the British Film Institute, Crux Films and Somebody Nobody Productions, among others. His directorial debut for The Milo Wladek Co., The Joyous Farmer, won the Best Short Film awards at both the Jaffna International Cinema Festival and the Agenda14 Short Film Festival in Sri Lanka. He lives in New York and is currently an in-house Editor for ABKCO Films.
Joe Brace has spent four years working in film marketing and PR and currently freelances in a development capacity for a number of sales agents and script reading agencies. He is currently writing his first film.
Dino Dimopoulos is a producer, director and editor who works in a broad range of mediums including fashion, fiction, documentary and music videos. Having produced online video content for The Sunday Times Online, Dino now regularly freelances in the same capacity for the British Film Institute, as well as directing fashion videos for Grazia and Anya Hindmarch. Other clients have included the BBC. He has worked on a number of award-winning short films as a Cinematographer.
Sami El-Enany is a sound artist whose work negotiates the fringes of new instrumental and electronic music, and seeks to engage with the world in progressive ways. His collaborative practices range widely from film, fine art, theatre, games and band-life. Among his clients are the BBC, The Guardian and Sotheby's. Recent film scores include Phillip Wood's critically acclaimed documentaries on the nature of addiction (Chasing Dad: A lifelong Addiction and Rehab: Lives Addicted). He is also a member of the pop band La Shark who have toured the world and released records that have had extensive radio play on BBC’s Radio 1, 6Music and XFM. His concert music has been performed by the Budapest Art Orchestra, members of the LSO and the Royal Northern Sinfonia. He runs the non-profit label Quiet Tyrant.
Zak Klein is a scriptwriter and director based in London. He holds a Scriptwriting MA from Goldsmiths University. Zak's three recent short films have screened at a total 25 festivals across Europe and America, have won four awards and been featured on Vimeo Staff Picks and Short of the Week on Hunger TV. Zak has just finished writing his first feature film, and is now working in production.
The Unthank Aliance have directed music videos commissioned by some of the biggest labels in the UK and have been featured by PROMO NEWS, NME, GQ, XFM, BBC 6 and CLASH among others.
